{"id":104,"date":"2013-01-05T22:37:31","date_gmt":"2013-01-05T22:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/meetdon.com\/?page_id=104"},"modified":"2016-08-04T21:57:34","modified_gmt":"2016-08-05T02:57:34","slug":"project02","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/meetdon.com\/?page_id=104","title":{"rendered":"The Story of Peter &#038; Wendy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Completed Date:\u00a0 Tuesday, December 4, 2013<br \/>\nHost Club: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.taleweavers.org\" target=\"_blank\">Tale Weavers<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I chose to tell the story of \u201cPeter of Wendy\u201d (later re-titled to \u201cPeter Pan\u201d) because any good story has a beginning, middle and end built right in.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t remember the story of Peter Pan, or if you need a quick refresher on the story, you can become reacquainted in about 15 minutes.\u00a0 Unfortunately, I failed at trying to condense it to a 5-7 minute time frame!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/imi8nDsT0Xs?rel=0\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h1>About Project #02 &#8211; Organize Your Speech<\/h1>\n<p>The objective of this project is to make the speech easy to understand by organizing the discussion points in a logical manner.\u00a0 The message should be clear, the transitions between points or ideas should be smooth, and the opening and closing of the speech should be strong.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Specifics \u2013<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5>Word of Day: Pontificate<\/h5>\n<h5>Speech Time Limit: 5-7 minutes<\/h5>\n<h5>Actual Speech time: 14:02<\/h5>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h1><b>Evaluation Notes \u2013 <\/b><\/h1>\n<h1>Personal Comments\u00a0 &#8211;<\/h1>\n<p>I really believe that everyone (including me) who does these speech projects should really try to stay within the time frame.\u00a0 When I first practiced this speech, it took 8 minutes.\u00a0 The next time took 9, then 10, then 11.\u00a0 It didn&#8217;t matter if I cut material out or not!\u00a0 I love to embellish stories, which I usually consider a positive trait.\u00a0 However, this was not a very nice thing for me to do to the audience.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Do you have any comments, suggestions, or improvements about the speech?
