{"id":128,"date":"2013-01-05T23:18:59","date_gmt":"2013-01-05T23:18:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/meetdon.com\/?page_id=128"},"modified":"2016-08-04T22:01:19","modified_gmt":"2016-08-05T03:01:19","slug":"project08","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/meetdon.com\/?page_id=128","title":{"rendered":"Tinker Bell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Delivery Date:\u00a0 Tuesday, April 16, 2013<br \/>\nHost Club: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.taleweavers.org\" target=\"_blank\">Tale Weavers<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fairies are mentioned in a lot of literary works.\u00a0 If you ask people to name one fairy, a name often mentioned is \u201cTinker Bell\u201d.\u00a0 She is that popular!\u00a0\u00a0This speech\u00a0will tell you everything you want to know about Tinker Bell: How she got her name, who the model was for the Disney animation, and other interesting facts about Tinker Bell.\u00a0 For visual aids, my friend Kristine Campbell let me\u00a0showcase her collection of Tinker Bell artwork.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_qUiH8Jr2to\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h1><b>About Project #08 \u2013 Visual Aids<\/b><\/h1>\n<p>Using visual aids in speaking can be useful tools, since so much of our learning takes place through our eyes.\u00a0 If done well, visual aids can increase the audiences understanding, enhance retention, and promote attentiveness.<\/p>\n<h1><b>Specifics \u2013 <\/b><\/h1>\n<h5>Word of Day: Cliff-Hanger<\/h5>\n<h5>Speech Time Limit: 5-7 Minutes<\/h5>\n<h5>Actual Speech time: 7:06<\/h5>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h1><b>Evaluation Notes \u2013 <\/b><\/h1>\n<p>It was\u00a0a very interesting comment by Kent to not use handouts.\u00a0 Although, I technically did not use a handout, I did pass around a paper that had the photo of Margaret Kerry.\u00a0 Kent is absolutely right about people not paying attention to the speaker when they are busy\u00a0passing around a photo.\u00a0\u00a0It probably would have better for me to make a large enough photo board for everyone to see from a distance.\u00a0 I certainly wasn&#8217;t going to\u00a0go through the expense of making a copy\u00a0for everyone.<\/p>\n<h1><b>Personal Comments &#8211;<\/b><\/h1>\n<p><b>I think this is one of the few speeches that look better in video than in person.\u00a0 I was able to copy the images in the frames with a camera, doctor them up in Photo Shop, and nicely\u00a0insert them in\u00a0to the video.\u00a0 Plus, if you get around to Kent&#8217;s evalution in the end of the video, I was able to keyframe in Tinker Bell to &#8220;assist&#8221; him. <\/b><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Do you have any comments, suggestions, or improvements about the speech?
