{"id":138,"date":"2013-01-05T23:37:47","date_gmt":"2013-01-05T23:37:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/meetdon.com\/?page_id=138"},"modified":"2018-01-26T13:43:52","modified_gmt":"2018-01-26T19:43:52","slug":"project10","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/meetdon.com\/?page_id=138","title":{"rendered":"Never Grow Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Date:\u00a0 Tuesday, June 4, 2013<br \/>\nHost Club: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.taleweavers.org\" target=\"_blank\">Tale Weavers<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dave Barry, columnist and humorist, said it best when he said, &#8220;You may be only young once, but you can always be immature!&#8221; There is a distinct difference between being irresponsible and being immature.\u00a0 There is also a difference between being a dreamer and being stupid.\u00a0 Not growing up is a way to keep a lot of fun in your life.\u00a0 This speech brings inspiration and wisdom for staying young.\u00a0 Peter Pan would be so proud!<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g_3CtnMivc4?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h1><b>About Project #10 \u2013 Inspire Your Audience<\/b><\/h1>\n<p>The objective of this speech project is to motivate an audience to make some improvement in their life.\u00a0 It is done by connecting with the listener\u2019s feelings, explaining how the situation could be better, and then showing them a better way by providing a challenge or encouragement.\u00a0 Inspirational speaking is a fundamental foundation for successful teaching.<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<h1><b>Specifics \u2013 <\/b><\/h1>\n<h5>Word of Day: Expeditious<\/h5>\n<h5>Speech Time Limit: 8 &#8211; 10 Minutes<\/h5>\n<h5>Actual Speech time: 9:57<\/h5>\n<h1><b>Evaluation Notes \u2013 <\/b><\/h1>\n<p>The evaluator, Michele, had only evaluated one other speech before evaluating this one on video!\u00a0 I asked her if she would be willing to do it so that I could show people who might be considering joining Toastmasters that it&#8217;s not as hard as they think it would be.\u00a0 I was impressed that she made it look so easy!<\/p>\n<p>Like a good speech evaluator, she discussed quite a few thing which she enjoyed about the speech. For improvement, she suggested that I select a few activities from the Book of Immaturity, and give examples.<\/p>\n<h1><b>Personal Comments &#8211;<\/b><\/h1>\n<p>Would you believe I put this speech together in one night? I can&#8217;t believe I had an entire evening before the speech to write it. Usually, I write the speech in the morning prior the speech!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Do you have any comments, suggestions, or improvements about the speech?
