The Story of Peter & Wendy

Completed Date:  Tuesday, December 4, 2013
Host Club: Tale Weavers

I chose to tell the story of “Peter of Wendy” (later re-titled to “Peter Pan”) because any good story has a beginning, middle and end built right in.  If you don’t remember the story of Peter Pan, or if you need a quick refresher on the story, you can become reacquainted in about 15 minutes.  Unfortunately, I failed at trying to condense it to a 5-7 minute time frame!

About Project #02 – Organize Your Speech

The objective of this project is to make the speech easy to understand by organizing the discussion points in a logical manner.  The message should be clear, the transitions between points or ideas should be smooth, and the opening and closing of the speech should be strong.

Personal Comments  –

I really believe that everyone (including me) who does these speech projects should really try to stay within the time frame.  When I first practiced this speech, it took 8 minutes.  The next time took 9, then 10, then 11.  It didn’t matter if I cut material out or not!  I love to embellish stories, which I usually consider a positive trait.  However, this was not a very nice thing for me to do to the audience.
